Savvy moms will find college scholarships for women that provide the cash they need to go to college so that they have no out-of-pocket expenses during the process. Women with a great desire to go back to college immediately should investigate all of the following scholarships and grants for college to see if they meet the qualifications:



    Les Dames d’Escoffier Scholarship: This scholarship money is awarded to women seeking instruction in food and drink, nutrition, hospitality, or other areas about food technology. These scholarships are offered to undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students involved in the culinary arts and are from $2,500 to $10,000.

    Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.): This organization has established several funds to give women the opportunity to get a good education. These include four funds that give free college tuition assistance: P.E.O. Scholar Awards, the P.E.O. International Peace Fund, the P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education, and the P.E.O. Star Scholarship.

    The Roothbert Fund Scholarship: These college scholarships for women are granted to undergraduate or graduate studies who need financial aid to finish their degrees. The 20 scholarships awarded each year are between $2,000 and $3,000 and based on merit which must be proven through essays, references, interviews, and transcripts. The judges are seeking people who have a spiritual motivation for their educational endeavors.

    Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships: They are offered to business majors or those in related studies who have proven themselves extremely capable in this area. District scholarship winners are awarded $1,000 and 12 national scholarships are given in the sum of $5,000. Students may apply for these during their second year of study and up until they have completed their Master’s degree.

    Linda Lael Miller Scholarship: Women wishing to continue their education who are at least 25 years old may apply for this award of up to $15,000. It requires a written 500 word essay explaining a woman’s need, her future plans, the amount of money requested, and the way in which the money will be used.

    Tylenol Future Care Scholarship: Tylenol sets aside $250,000 to be awarded to students in undergraduate and graduate programs related to caring for others. There are close to 200 scholarships given to students in amounts between $1,000 and $10,000.

An online search will turn up hundreds of other sources for school funding in addition to those listed. Other avenues of free college scholarships for women include local charities and clubs, present employers, and state funded scholarship programs. Women will find that many of these scholarships and grants for college may be used consecutively to reduce educational costs.
